Research reports contracted by the Slovak Road Administration (Slovenská správa ciest).
2019: Strategic reporting at the pavement network level (under development)
In Slovak: Strategický reporting vozoviek na úrovni cestnej siete
The goal of the research project is to propose a new strategic reporting system and performance measurement system as a set of key performance indicators (KPI) as an integral part of the pavement and road management system in the Slovak Republic.
2019: Pavement deterioration modeling and planning algorithms at the network level (under development)
In Slovak: Modelovanie vývoja stavu vozoviek na úrovni cestnej siete
The goal of the research project is to:
- analyze and describe methods for mathematical modeling of pavement deterioration process; including deterministic and probabilistic models,
- analyze and describe common algorithms for pavement network level programming.
2018: Pavement surface distress identification using the LineScan device
The Slovak Road Administration has a measurement system with a linescan camera for capturing sharp pictures of the pavement surface.
The goal of the reseach project was to explore possibilities for automatic or semi-automatic pavement distress extraction from the picture recording, in particular information on cracks and potholes.
We described some common possibilities and settled on developing a proof of concept artificial intelligence imaging system to cope with this problem.
The research is now complete and the final report in Slovak language available.
